Description:

The painting features a reclining nude woman, presumably Venus, the Roman goddess of love and beauty, attended by a winged infant, Cupid, her son. Venus is the central figure, lying on a vibrant blue draped surface, possibly a bed or a couch. Her body is positioned diagonally across the frame, with her head resting on a plush, red pillow adorned with gold tassels. Her eyes are closed, and her expression is serene, suggesting relaxation or sleep. A sheer, white fabric partially covers her body, adding to the sensuousness of the scene. Cupid stands behind her, to the right, holding a large, feathered fan, which he appears to be using to cool Venus. He is depicted with small wings and a playful expression, looking down at his mother. A quiver of arrows is slung across his back, although he is not actively using them.
