Description:

The painting depicts a sleeping warrior, likely Rinaldo from Tasso's Gerusalemme Liberata, reclining peacefully. A woman, presumably the sorceress Armida, leans over him, preparing to crown him with flowers. Her expression is one of fascination and perhaps affection. A winged Cupid hovers nearby, also holding a floral wreath. Another winged figure, possibly a putto or another representation of desire, rests near Rinaldo's sword.
